Monuments

We spend more than half our lives living in buildings. In Monuments, I seek to reveal the stage where the story of our lives plays out.

Some of the images are shot using Large Format film, with details composited in; others are composed of hundreds of photographs taken with a long lens and stitched together to a create a single, highly detailed visual that enables one to experience the building in a new way. Either way, the resulting image allows one to see everv brick, texture and tone that makes up these buildings along with the lives that moves within them.

More broadly, the series is a story of people and buildings, for it is people, driven by jobs and the need for a paycheck and the desire to have an impact on the world, who build these
monuments. It is people who live in them, maintain them and people who bring them down.
